Spoštovani,
v veselje in čast mi je, da vas lahko povabim na III. mednarodno konferenco Prijateljev Zahodnega Balkana, ki bo potekala med 26. in 28. aprilom 2026 v Ljubljani, v Grand Hotelu Plaza.
Konference z naslovom “Zahodni Balkan v vrtincu nove varnostne geopolitike” se bo udeležilo 33 uglednih govornikov iz 24 držav.
Vsakoletno srečanje, ki je letos že tretje po vrsti, s tem postaja tradicionalno ter vse bolj referenčno v regiji in širše. Udeležili se ga bodo ugledni državniki, sedanji in nekdanji predsedniki držav in vlad, posebni odposlanci vlad za Zahodni Balkan, zunanji ministri ter vodilni poznavalci geopolitike ter evropske in zahodnobalkanske politike.
Mednarodna konferenca se uveljavlja tudi zato, ker po nastopu uvodnih govornikov temelji na splošni razpravi, vprašanjih in odgovorih, v zaključku pa poskuša izpostaviti njene najpomembnejše poudarke. Posebnost letošnje konference je, da bo prvič obravnavala politične in varnostne razmere ter dinamiko reformnih procesov za vstop v EU v vsaki od šestih držav v regiji posebej, začenši s Srbijo.
Sprejemne večerje, ki bo potekala v nedeljo, 26. aprila, se bo udeležila tudi predsednica Republike Slovenije Nataša Pirc Musar, ki se bo pred večerjo srečala z govorniki konference in jih priložnostno nagovorila. (Fototermin za medije ob začetku sprejema.)
Konferenca se bo pričela 27. aprila s skupinsko fotografijo govornikov ob 9.45, vsebinski del pa ob 10. uri. Konferenca bo oba dneva odprta za javnost.

Dear Sir or Madam,
it is my pleasure and honor to invite you to the 3rd International Conference of the Friends of the Western Balkans, which will take place from April 26th to 28th, 2026, in Ljubljana, at the Grand Hotel Plaza.
The conference, titled “The Western Balkans in the Whirlwind of Security Geopolitics,” will bring together 33 distinguished speakers from 24 countries.
This annual gathering, now in its third edition, is becoming a tradition and increasingly gaining recognition both in the region and beyond. It will be attended by prominent statesmen, current and former presidents and prime ministers, special government envoys for the Western Balkans, foreign ministers, as well as leading experts in geopolitics and European and Western Balkan affairs.
The international conference is also gaining prominence due to its format: following the keynote addresses, it is based on an open discussion, questions and answers, and concludes by highlighting its most important takeaways. A special feature of this year’s conference is that, for the first time, it will address the political and security situation, as well as the dynamics of EU accession reform processes, in each of the six countries of the region individually, starting with Serbia.
The welcome dinner on Sunday, April 26, will also be attended by the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Nataša Pirc Musar, who will meet with the conference speakers beforehand and deliver a brief address. (Photo opportunity at the start of the reception.)
The conference will begin on April 27 with a group photo of the speakers at 9:45 AM, followed by the main program at 10:00 AM. The conference will be open to the public on both days.
